Man sought in purse, vehicle theft

Police are trying to identify a man suspected of stealing a car and a purse from the Dollar General store in Middlesex Township.

Township police said an employee's purse, wallet and car keys were removed Tuesday from the office of the store in the 1100 block of Harrisburg Pike.

Security video showed a man enter the office, pick up the purse, and leave with it tucked under his coat, police said.

The man was described as 5'10″ to 6'0″ tall with blond hair, and wearing a black winter coat with a hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and white sneakers.

An employee saw him leaving the parking lot in a blue minivan, possibly a Ford Windstar, police said.

After an officer responded to the store to investigate, the victim called 911 a second time to report that her car had been stolen from the parking lot, police said.
