A water main break was expected to affect evening travel Friday on a section of East Philadelphia Street in York.
York Water Company president Jeff Hines said the break between Duke and George streets was valved off about 90 minutes after it occurred at around 6 a.m., but the street would have to be repaved once repairs were completed.
Hines expected the first block of East Philadelphia would remain closed until about 6 p.m.
The break of the 10-inch main affected about 28 customers on the block, who have been notified that they will have to boil their drinking water for about 48 hours as a precaution.
Their service was restored in the afternoon.
