Two people were left temporarily homeless by a fire near Biglerville that destroyed their attached garage and a car.
Arendtsville Deputy Fire Chief Mark Fulton said the garage was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the home, at 1471 Quaker Valley Road in Menallen Township, at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
“Firefighters were able to make a good stop on the fire as it was about
to enter into the home,” Fulton said. “The home sustained some moderate fire damage
but heavy smoke damage, leaving two residents temporarily homeless.”
Fulton said the cause was unknown and a state police fire marshal would assist in the investigation.
The American Red Cross of Hanover is assisting the two adults who lived in the home.
No injuries were reported.
