The official month for Breast Cancer Awareness was back in October, but that hasn't stopped a local group of Zumba fitness instructors from making a shining effort toward building awareness.
Nancie Hart, a health enthusiast and veteran of the fitness industry, has teamed up with five local Zumba instructors to host a Zumbathon Glow Party to benefit Pink Hands of Hope, a local breast cancer supporter and thrift shop.
Founded in 2008, Pink Hands is a non-profit organization that runs a thrift shop to raise funds for courageous women battling breast cancer.
The fundraiser was intentionally planned for the first Saturday after Daylight Saving time. The group said they wanted to maximize darkness in order to “glow crazy.”
The fundraiser takes place Saturday night at the Crossroads Community Church, 1425 Market Street, Mechanicsburg.
Doors open at 6:30p.m and tickets can be purchased for $20.
All are encouraged to come and bring their friends and family, but don't forget to wear your brightest clothing.
