Results in Fairview Township supervisor race expected next week

A controversial race in Fairview Township, York County will drag on for another week.

Scott Hockenberry, who won the Republican primary and was unopposed for a six-year term on the five-member Fairview Township Board of Supervisors, received 1,160 votes – but voters in Tuesday's election cast 1,282 write-in ballots.

An official count of the write-in ballots is expected to begin Friday and continue into next week, with results expected next Thursday.

Hockenberry was the township's police chief before he was fired last November.
