Around 9:15 Thursday morning the Lower Allen Fire Company responded to the Capital City Mall for reports of smoke in the building.
Employees arriving for work smelled a bad odor but couldn't identify it and called officials.
When first responders arrived they found light smoke coming out of a maintenance room and inside, officials say they found a pile of mop heads that had been burning.
The mall was evacuated and units were on the scene for over an hour.
Lower Allen Police and the Cumberland County District Attorney's Forensic Unit have determined the fire to be accidental.
The small fire caused very little damage however one maintenance employee was taken to be checked out for smoke inhalation.
