Lancaster police have charged a Harrisburg man with attempted homicide and aggravated assault for a stabbing incident that seriously injured another man last month.

Louis Hargrove Jr., 53, is accused of stabbing a 49-year-old man in the 300 block of S. Marshall Street during the early morning of Sept. 1, police said.

Police said Hargrove and the victim know each other.

The victim, who was not identified, was still receiving medical treatment Friday for severe stabbing injuries to his abdomen. He is stable and expected to recover, police said.

Hargrove, who has been jailed in Lancaster County Prison for unrelated offenses since Sept. 21, was arraigned on the new charges Thursday. Bail was set at $500,000.

Anyone with information regarding the assault may call Lancaster police at 717-735-1780.
