Dozens of York County residents were forced out of their homes Friday after they tried to stick out the rising waters of the Conewago Creek.
Residents of a mobile home park in Dover Township had been warned of the rapidly rising flood waters Thursday night and were told to evacuate.
Many either stayed or returned, saying they were used to false alarms. But by Friday afternoon, the flood waters became too fast and too deep.
Rescue crews with boats showed up at the neighborhood along Route 74 and forced a second round of evacuations.
Those without a place to go were taken by school bus to a temporary shelter at the township building.
