Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson is launching a comprehensive planning initiative to help the city grow in several key areas while the recovery plan is in motion.
Thompson said the 18-month effort consists of a steering committee made up of residents and business leaders.
They will work with a community development firm, Mullin & Lonergan Associates, to develop a plan to help improve land use, economic development and housing.
The public is invited to take part in the process. Twenty meetings have been scheduled to take place during the development phase.
The first public meeting is set for October 16 at 7 p.m. in the Harrisburg High School auditorium.
