Sex offender arrested after taunting police

State police in York said they granted the request of a convicted sex offender who mockingly told troopers he should be arrested for a Megan's Law violation.

Christopher Paul Vogel, 51, of Fawn Grove, went to police Thursday to verify his address as required by the law, but was out of compliance by several days, police said.

When confronted about the penalties for failing to register, police said Vogel became agitated and argumentative, attempted to taunt troopers by making a hand gesture simulating a handcuffed position, and in a mocking tone requested that he should just be arrested.

He was taken into custody and charged with failure to comply.
