The most recent search for Baby Hamza Ali was called off Thursday afternoon.
Crews started searching the Susquehanna River near Columbia River Park on Wednesday. After a cadaver dog “hit” on a scent a dive team was called in to search the river more extensively.
Divers searched the river between the Route 462 bridge and the Route 30 bridge for several hours Wednesday and Thursday, but police say they did not find anything.
“We are still determined,” said Lt. Bill Kane, Upper Darby police.
Ummad Rushdi, of York County, is charged with homicide. Police say he admits to killing the baby but still refuses to tell them where he put the baby.
Upper Darby police say they do not expect to be back in the area anytime soon.
“The investigation will go on,” said Lt. Kane
