PennDOT has restored Route 30 westbound near Hallam to two lanes of traffic.

The right lane between West Frysville Road and Kreutz Creek Road reopened shortly before 3 p.m. Friday.

The lane had been closed since late Thursday afternoon, when two sinkholes were discovered near the Shoe House Road overpass in Hellam Township.

PennDOT spokesman Greg Penny said both sinkholes were about 15 feet deep and roughly 10-12 feet wide.

Both holes were plugged with rock and concrete and the roadway was repaved.
