Registration for Obamacare starts October 1.

The President of Pinnacle Health Medical Group, Dr. James Bleicher, talked about the new healthcare law and what it will mean for people.

Dr. Bleicher says he thinks Obamacare is a great thing and that it will offer a lot of improvements for patients.

He says it will provide healthcare to those who don't have it and present choices that haven't existed before to those who already do have it.

What remains to be seen is whether or not employers will keep their insurance plans or whether people will have to go to the public exchanges.

Bleicher says right now it looks like the process of signing up at those exchanges is complicated but that there should be help for those who aren't quite sure what to do.

“Well, they are looking for navigators for these insurance products–states are looking to hire these people that will help you go through the different areas,” Bleicher said.

“PA I believe is going with the federal model with the exchanges. We don't have all the ins and outs of that. So I don't think that's been decided exactly how people can get to these new insurance products.”
