Theft, DUI plants man in prison

Police said a New Cumberland man ended up in prison on DUI and theft charges, and all over a potted plant.

Fairview Township police said a patrolling officer saw 26-year-old Adam Snyder grab the plant Thursday as he walked out of the Giant food store at 130 Old York Road.

A second officer confirmed the plant had been stolen, and when Snyder's vehicle was pulled over it was determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance to the degree he was incapable of safe driving, police said.

Snyder, who was placed under arrest, was wearing an alcohol monitoring bracelet as the result of a previous DUI arrest, and his license had been suspended, police said.

He was sent to the York County Prison on $2,500 bail.
