Police investigate gunshots in Swatara Township

Police in Swatara Township, Dauphin County said a vehicle was struck by bullets when as many as six to eight gunshots were fired overnight.

The shots were fired at around 12:20 a.m. in the area of the basketball courts between Watson and Conestoga streets by an unknown male wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, police said Thursday.

The vehicle was parked on Conestoga Street and was struck three times by bullets, police said.

Investigators are working to determine who may have been targeted in the incident.

They said witnesses reported seeing several males driving in the area in a small silver or tan colored car just prior to and after the shooting.

Numerous shell casings were recovered at the scene.
