A Harrisburg man is headed to trial for the murder of an 87-year-old woman in a Hershey area home.
Dajuan Anthony Porter, 29, waived his preliminary hearing Thursday morning and allowed the charges against him to proceed to Dauphin County Court.
A formal arraignment was scheduled for October 1.
Prosecutors have said Porter was looking for someone else when he fatally stabbed Joyce Roth inside a home on Byron Road in Derry Township on June 10.
Porter, who had been arrested by Harrisburg police for performing sexual acts on three men as they slept, was due in court the morning of the murder and was looking for an accuser who previously lived in the home, authorities said.
Roth, of Allentown, was visiting Derry Township for the high school graduation of her great-grandchild and was staying at the home of her son and daughter-in-law when she was stabbed in the chest while sleeping in a guest bedroom.
Porter waived charges of murder of the first degree, burglary, retaliation against a witness or victim, and intimidation of a witness or victim.
He additionally waived arson and witness intimidation counts for allegedly setting a June 10 fire at the Lower Paxton Township home of a second accuser, who was not injured.
