Verizon service has been restored to customers in the Midstate following an outage since 5 p.m. on Friday.

A downed tree in the Harrisburg area cut a fiber optic line, causing a massive outage that affected customers in Cumberland, Dauphin, York, Franklin and Adams counties.

A Verizon spokesman told abc27 that crews were working around the clock to resolve the problem.

Service was restored as of 10 a.m. on Saturday.
