Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash involving a gasoline tanker in Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County this morning.
Township police said the truck had just left a tank farm on Simpson Ferry Road when the minivan crossed the center line in the 800 block of Wesley Drive and struck the tanker's rear wheels at 8 a.m.
The minivan, driven by 41-year-old Theresa Keck of Lemoyne, then collided with a third car driven by 36-year-old Teresa Shelly of Mechanicsburg, police said.
Keck, two passengers – a 15-year-old and an infant – and Shelly were taken by ambulance to Holy Spirit Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
No gasoline was spilled, but 9,000 gallons had to be off-loaded from the damaged tanker.
Wesley Drive was closed for about an hour and had narrowed lanes in both directions until 1 p.m.
