Lancaster Co. police investigate series of overnight thefts

Police are investigating several overnight burglaries and thefts from vehicles in the Ephrata area.

Authorities said a number of burglaries and thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9.

Officials from the Farmersville Auction reported that someone broke into the business by smashing a window and stole an undetermined
amount cash.

Zimmerman's Butcher Shop along the first block of West Farmersville Road made a similar report, saying two antique guns were taken from their business. The
guns were later found abandoned nearby. Once again, entry was made by
smashing a window.

Three residents of Suncrest Road, which is in the village of
Farmersville, said their vehicles were entered and items were taken, including cash and GPS units.
