Lebanon police: 2 fires may have been intentionally set

Preliminary investigations indicate that two fires in Lebanon early Thursday may have been intentionally set.

Lebanon police said Friday that they have a person of interest in the fires on the third floor of 547 N. 10th Street and on the third floor of 518 N. 8th Street, but they did not identify the possible suspect.

While authorities believe the incidents are
related, they said their investigation is
ongoing and no further information will be released about
evidence or a possible motive at this point.

The fire on N. 10th Street occurred at 2:45 a.m. and the second fire on N. 8th was reported at 3:41 a.m.

A resident of a N. 10th, John Betz, told abc27 News on Thursday that he was in a deep sleep when a man kicked in the door of his second-floor apartment. That man, Tom Drupp, said he kicked in two doors to warn residents of the fire.
