Harrisburg police rule out homicide in April death

Harrisburg police said they have ruled out homicide in the case of a 59-year-old man who died at a city hospital two months ago.

Gerald Pendelton, 59, no fixed address, died at Harrisburg Hospital as the result of a brain hemorrhage on April 16, a week after he was found unconscious in the 100 block of Locust Street.

Police had been investigating a report from an apparent witness; a woman who told officers that Pendelton fell after he was punched in the face by an unknown attacker.

Authorities now question the credibility of the witness, and believe Pendelton's death may have been the result of natural causes.
