A 30-year-old Hummelstown man was hospitalized after he was shot several times in Harrisburg early Friday.
City police said the man was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical
Center for treatment of wounds that were not considered life threatening.
Officers had responded to the 1900 block of State Street for a report that a person
had been shot and found the victim in the parking lot of the City Gas
& Diesel store at N. 16th and State streets.
The victim, who was not identified, told investigators that he had been drinking and asked an acquaintance to drive him to Harrisburg, police said.
He said the man
drove him to the 1900 block of State Street and left him to sleep in his car, and he later awoke as he was being assaulted by someone who shot him, police said.
He told investigators he drove off and made it to safety.
Police said officers checked on calls of a shooting in the area and located a probable scene in the 1700 block of Miller Street.
