A Virginia man arrested for the rape of a 12-year-old Palmyra girl has been returned to Pennsylvania to face charges in the case.
Roger Valdez, 38, of Arlington, was preliminarily arraigned Thursday on charges including rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors, according to Palmyra police.
He was then sent to Lebanon County Prison on $1.5 million bail.
Police said Valdez met the girl online and on April 27 traveled from Virginia to her home, then took her to a motel in the borough where he allegedly had sex with her multiple times.
He was arrested in Virginia last week.
