A former member of the Lower Dauphin Board of School Directors has been ordered to trial on child sexual abuse charges.
Rodney Nissley, 48, of Hummelstown appeared for his preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Pelino, who ruled that the victim's testimony was enough to send the case to Dauphin County Court.
His accuser testified at the hearing that Nissley molested her multiple times over a period of years, beginning when she was either in the second or third grade and continuing until November 2012.
All 13 charges against Nissley were forwarded to county court, including felony counts of rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault. A formal arraignment was scheduled for July 9.
The investigation was prompted in November when the girl reported the sexual abuse to a school counselor, according to police, who said none of alleged abuse was related to the school and did not take place during school events.
Nissley, who had been on the board since December 2008, resigned March 14.
