Leola man arrested for burglaries

A Leola man has been arrested for several recent burglaries and thefts of gasoline from business maintenance sheds, according to police.

East Lampeter Township police said they took 22-year-old Brandon Rutherford into custody early Wednesday as he fled from a burglary at the Leola Pool maintenance shed, at 23 E. Main Street.

Police said they had been patrolling the area due to the recent burglaries.

Rutherford was charged with three felony counts of burglary, criminal trespass, attempted burglary and three misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property.
