Cruise-in planned for state Capitol

Pennsylvania lawmakers are inviting automobile fanatics to show off their antique and classic cars and trucks at an event outside the state Capitol next month.

Reps. John Payne (R-Dauphin) and Gary Haluska (D-Cambria) said the car show called “A Capitol Cruisin” will be part of this year's Motorsports Caucus Day, an event that pays tribute to the automotive industry and the financial impact it has on the state.

“We decided to hold a slightly different event this year,” Haluska said in a news release.
“Instead of bringing in vehicles from one particular facet of the
motorsports industry, we are inviting motorsports fanatics from across
the state to show off their personal vehicles – whether it be a new
Corvette, a Model T or a restored truck.”

The car show will take place on Tuesday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Soldier's Grove, located on Commonwealth Avenue behind the state Capitol building. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Payne and Haluska, co-chairmen of the House Motorsports Caucus, are encouraging Pennsylvania residents interested in showcasing their vehicles to register by calling either Payne's office at 717-787-2684 or Haluska's office at 717-787-3532. There is no cost to register or participate.
