Susquehanna U. locked down after armed robbery

Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove went into lockdown after police received a report of an armed robbery at an apartment near campus.

On Saturday morning, authorities were notified of an apparent armed robbery/home invasion at an apartment in the 100 block of South Market Street.

A resident of the apartment told police that two male suspects entered his residence as he and approximately 11 other students were gathered.

One of the robbers was armed with a pump shotgun, and the other had a semi-automatic handgun. The robbers forced the victims to the floor and took their cell phones and wallets.

The two men then found three visitors, all female, in the bathroom of the apartment. In the process of forcibly robbing them, the man with the shotgun struck one of the women in the head with the butt of his weapon.

The robbers then fled the apartment to Market Street and were last seen running east on East Bough Street.

The injured woman was treated and released from Sunbury Community Hospital.

In accordance with safety procedures, Susquehanna University executed a lockdown of their campus after police were notified. The lockdown was lifted later in the day.

The robber with the shotgun was described as between 18 and 28 years of age, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2 in height and a medium/muscular build. He was wearing a dark or camouflaged shirt/jacket and lighter colored pants. The shotgun was described as dark-colored metal.

The man armed with a semi-automatic handgun was also between 18 and 28. He was between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall with a medium/slender build. He was wearing a dark shirt, jacket or hoodie and green camouflaged pants. His gun was also dark metal.

Both men were wearing ski masks or coverings over their faces.
