As the national debate on gun control continues, midstate activists are rallying as they call on Congress and community leaders to enact what they call “common sense” legislation.
On Saturday morning two groups—Cease Fire PA and Mayors Against Illegal Guns—held a “We Have Not Forgotten” rally at the York City Police Department.
They say the purpose of the rally is to remember the victims of gun violence. They also wanted to show support for legislation like the bipartisan bill introduced by Senator Pat Toomey expanding background checks.
There will be another rally tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Binn's Park in Lancaster.
