Harrisburg assault victim dies at hospital

Harrisburg police told abc27 that the victim of last week's assault in Harrisburg has died.

The 59-year-old Allison Hill resident was found unconscious in the 100 block of Locust Street in Harrisburg on Saturday, April 6. A patrol officer who was trained as an emergency medical technician attended to the victim, who was unresponsive.

The officer also spoke with a woman who said she witnessed the assault. She told police that a man in a red car stopped, got out of the vehicle, and punched the victim in the face.

The victim fell, and the attacker drove off.

The victim was taken to the Harrisburg Hospital and was stabilized. Authorities said he remained in critical condition until he died on Saturday, April 13.
