Police say the driver, 66-year-old Marie Hairston of Maryland, was traveling south on I-81 in Bethel Township at around 2 p.m. when she fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle.
The car traveled off the roadway and struck a tree head-on in the center median.
The driver and her three passengers—Michelle Foster, 34, and two boys, ages 13 and 8—were all taken by EMS to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.
