Dry, windy conditions spur red flag warning

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the possibility of wildfires across central Pennsylvania on Friday.

The agency said the potential exists for rapid fire spread if uncontrolled fires develop, or for prescribed burns to get out of control.

Humidity levels are as low as 23 percent, and winds in some areas are expected to gust to as high as 25 miles per hour through early this evening.

The red flag warning is in effect until 8 p.m.
