A Harrisburg man has been convicted of third-degree murder in a stabbing death in the city's Restaurant Row last year.
A jury in Dauphin County returned the guilty verdict Thursday at the trial of 34-year-old Shawn Thompson, who was also convicted of attempted robbery of a motor vehicle.
Authorities said Thompson stabbed 21-year-old Tyrone Manley four times while the two were outside the Dragonfly and Hardware Bar nightclubs during closing time in the early hours of February 26, 2012.
Thompson then tried to get away from the crime scene by pulling a passenger out of a taxi
cab, but police officers took him into custody as he urged the cab driver to leave.
Manley, of York, died later at a hospital from a stab wound to his heart. He had a 2-year-old son and was out for his first night on the town in Harrisburg, according to family members.
Both bars have since closed and reopened with different formats.
