Man assaulted over wait at video kiosk

A man was hospitalized after he was assaulted at a video rental kiosk at the Walmart store in Carlisle, according to borough police.

Carlisle police said 46-year-old William Sampson was struck several times in the front of the store Thursday, reportedly because his fiance had been taking too long at the kiosk.

Sampson suffered injuries that police described as moderate and was sent to a hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Witnesses reported that the unknown assailant struck Sampson several times before a good Samaritan got involved and stopped the attack, police said.

The attacker, dressed in a gray hoodie and a green T-shirt, then left the store with a woman wearing red and yellow and two young children, police said.

Witnesses reported that the attacker left the parking lot in a silver minivan with Indiana license plats, according to police.
