Police say four horses were found dead on the property of a Lower Windsor Township farm last weekend.
A witness told abc27 that neighbors could see at least one dead horse in a field and they believe there may be more.
Police and investigators with the York County SPCA have been unsuccessful in getting information from the horse owner. Officials say it appears the horses didn't die from starvation.
Melissa Smith, executive director of the York County SPCA, said they are looking into the possibility that the animals were poisoned. They have to determine if it was intentional or not.
