Federal prosecutors investigating a Chambersburg Area School District teacher said they have no evidence so far of any illegal contact with students.

Jeffrey Schmutzler, of Fayettesville, was arrested last week on charges of distribution and receipt of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

According to the criminal complaint, the high school Spanish teacher used photograph editing computer software to superimpose pictures of students onto child pornography images he had downloaded from the Internet.

In a news release issued Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said there is no evidence at this point in their investigation that any female students were involved or that there was any unlawful physical contact with any students.

Prosecutors asked anyone with information in the case to call U.S. Postal Inspector Michael Corricelli at 717-257-5581.
