Thieves target drug and grocery stores on East & West Shores

Police are searching for a gang of thieves targeting drug and grocery stores. So far, members hit seven in one day.

The thefts happened Tuesday in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties. They took thousands of dollars worth of Mucinex, Prilosec, and razor blades. Cold medicines like Mucinex are re-sold on the street. People can use the medication to get high.

Police say these thieves are probably looking to sell the stolen goods. “We have spurts of these kind of crimes where health and beauty products are stolen,” said Det. Sgt. Tom Kauffman with the Upper Allen Township Police, “Many times they end up in pawn areas in bigger cities such as Baltimore, so we're looking into that aspect of it too.”

Police say they are looking for at least five people, many were captured on surveillance cameras. If you have any information, police would like to hear from you.
