Police warn of phone scam, threat to shoot sibling

State police are reminding residents to be cautious of phone scams after Central Pennsylvania residents received calls from someone threatening to shoot their brother if they didn't send money.

Police said one resident from Newport and one from Springettsbury Township were also told that their brother had been in a motor vehicle accident,

“Be very cautious of phone scams and if residents have any doubt they should contact their local or state police immediately,” state police cautioned in a press release.
