Police looking for the man who robbed a York County store and assaulted the clerk with a knife have released surveillance photos so that someone may recognize him.

Spring Garden Township police said the robber had a folding knife when he approached the clerk and demanded money from the register at Family Mart, at 1700 East Market Street, around 4 p.m. last Friday.

He then attacked the clerk, who was later treated for cuts to the face, arm and neck at York Hospital, police said. The injuries were not life threatening.

The robber fled the store with the money and was last seen running south on S. Belmont Street, police said. It is believed he fled in a SUV with an exterior rear spare tire that had been parked about a block from the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Spring Garden Township Police Department at (717) 843-0851 or York County Crime Stoppers at (717) 755-TIPS.

Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
