A contract agreement for the state's university professors is now set to go before the union for a full vote.
Leaders at the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) voted today to ratify an agreement with the State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). The full union will vote on the plan in early march.
Professors at state colleges and universities have been working with out a contract for 18 months. The union says the new agreement contains changes to the health care plan and allows for faculty input on class size.
The union represents approximately 5,500 faculty members at state-owned institutions.
