Man, 46, surrenders following manhunt in Cumberland County

Police say an armed man is now in custody following a lengthy overnight search.

Officers were called to a home on the 2100 block of Valley Road in East Pennsboro Township around 2 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a domestic dispute.

When they arrived they say there was an armed man in the home.

That man then fled out the back door.

Several police agencies were called in, as well as the Dauphin and Cumberland County SRT and a State Police helicopter.

A few homes in the area were also evacuated.

Officers spent several hours searching for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

Police told abc27 the man surrendered later in the morning.

He was identified as 46-year-old Charles Snavely. He will most likely face several charges.

No one was injured.

Valley Road was reopened a short time later.
