A Lancaster County man was injured while fleeing police and has since been charged with recklessly endangering others and several other traffic offenses, according to State Police.
Police say they stopped 47-year-old James E. Jeffrey of Stasburg for driving without headlights but said he sped off after the initial stop. Police pursued him for about one and a half miles before he crashed his vehicle.
Police say they initially stopped Jeffrey at Hazel and Walter Streets in Lancaster City. He crashed at Charlotte Street and Harrisburg Avenue.
Jeffrey was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with a broken sinus and rib and a laceration to his forehead.
Jeffrey has been charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle or property and several other traffic offenses.
