Police in Cumberland County have arrested two people for robbing an elderly man and woman who had helped them fix a flat tire.
Colin C. Wilson, 19, of Carlisle, and Daniel L. Jumbelick, 21, of no fixed address, were charged Thursday with robbery, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking, and harassment, according to Upper Allen Township police.
Jumbelick and Wilson on November 19 were driving in the 1200 Block of East Lisburn Road when they got a flat tire and borrowed tools from the victims. Police said they later returned to the home and demanded money from the 75-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man who lived with her.
Wilson displayed a knife and got into a physical
confrontation with the woman after he ripped the telephone from the
wall, and Jumbelick grabbed the woman's purse before they fled the home, police said.
Wilson and Jumbelick were served with the arrest warrants at Cumberland County Prison, where they were being held for other crimes.
Both were arrested last month for a home burglary in Carlisle. Jumbelick was also charged with breaking into a Carlisle business and for making a bomb threat to the Carlisle School District.
For the latest charges, bail was set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 11.
