Police looking for man who robbed Carlisle area bank

State police in Carlisle are looking for the man who robbed a bank in South Middleton Township.

Police on Thursday afternoon were using a helicopter and dogs to search the area around the Susquehanna Bank branch at 330 York Road, where the robber had displayed a handgun and demanded money shortly before 3 p.m.

The robber was described as a white male of unknown age, about 5'11 to 6'0″ tall, and wearing a blue sweatshirt, khaki pants, and white tennis shoes, according to police.

He was wearing sunglasses and had his face obscured during the holdup by what is believed to be a plastic wrap, according to Trooper Adam Reed.

The robber fled through a nearby residential area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Reed said the robbery was the second at the bank within the last three weeks.
