A Lancaster man has been arrested for having inappropriate sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl he met while he was a chaperon and mentor employed by
the School District of Lancaster, according to city police.
Clifton Rodney Jenkins, 50, of the 500 block of Park Avenue, was charged this week with a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors, police said.
The victim, now 29 years old, came forward last month and told police she knew Jenkins through the McCaskey High School gospel choir. She said Jenkins in one incident was giving her a ride home from a school event in April 2000 when he sexually assaulted her in his car, police said.
Two days later during a break at a choir concert in the high school, she said Jenkins pulled her into a classroom, exposed himself, and attempted to have sex with her, according to police.
Police said Jenkins also took nude photos of the victim and had her take pictures of him
exposing his genitals.
Jenkins has been released on $30,000 unsecured bail.
