PennDOT plans to begin work November 13 on a project to repair Main Street and Simpson Street and sections of Market Street and East Trindle Road in Mechanicsburg.
The curb cutting is in preparation for resurfacing next summer.
PennDOT spokeswoman Fritzi Schreffler said those traveling in Mechanicsburg may
encounter lane and parking restrictions, with flaggers directing traffic
through the work zone, on weekdays after 8:30 a.m. until winter sets in.
Crews will return in the spring to repair the following roads in preparation
– Main Street from the intersection with West Simpson
Street and West Trindle Road to East Trindle Road;
– East Trindle Road
from East Main Street to Sheely Lane;
– Simpson Street from the
intersection with West Main Street and West Trindle Road to the
intersection with Wesley Drive and Sheely Lane; and
– South Market Street
from Main to Simpson streets.
Work under the $3.1 million construction contract is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2013.
