A Harrisburg area man was arrested on theft charges when he tried to sell a compound bow he took and then advertised for sale as “a steal,” according to police.
Lower Paxton Township police said the victim of the theft had his vehicle broken into Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Pinnacle Health Community Campus Hospital at 4300 Londonderry Road.
Later in the morning, police said the victim saw his customized camouflage compound bow listed for sale on the Craigslist website at $75, along with the caption “Great condition comes with everything u see only asking 75 thats a steal.”
Undercover detectives emailed the seller to say they were interested in buying the bow and arrested 18-year-old Michael Zmuda when he showed up to sell it, police said.
Other items taken during the theft were found during a search of Zmuda's apartment, police said.
Zmuda was charged with theft and criminal mischief and sent to Dauphin County Prison on $25,000 bail.
