A Lancaster man has been held for trial in the death of his five month-old daughter last year.

A district judge during a preliminary hearing Wednesday found enough evidence against 24-year-old William Moore Jr. to send the case to trial.

Moore is charged with criminal homicide and is being held in the Lancaster County Prison without bail.

Moore's daughter, Aurora Heiney-Moore, died
the morning of April 12, 2011 after police and emergency crews responded
to an apartment in the 700 block of Reservoir Street for an infant who
was not breathing.

The girl could not be revived and was
pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later determined
she died of traumatic asphyxia, according to police.

Moore at first told investigators he fell asleep on top of the girl, but in
a later interview with police he admitted he fabricated his
initial story, according to court documents.

He told authorities that his daughter was
crying and he got frustrated with her and intentionally laid on top
of her to stop her from crying, documents state.
