A Chambersburg man has been acquitted in the shooting death of his 27-year-old son.
Jerry Rowe, 57, was found not guilty of criminal homicide Thursday at his trial in Franklin County court.
Police said Rowe told them his son, Nathaniel, had threatened him during a family argument October 16, 2011 at their home in the 900 block of Duncan Avenue.
He said he went for a gun and fired a shot to scare his son, who was fatally struck in the chest, according to police.
Jerry Rowe's wife, Pamela, testified during the trial that her son often became violent because of drug and alcohol use.
