GOSHEN, N.Y. – The boyfriend of a Lancaster County woman has been convicted of killing her and burying her partially dismembered body in the backyard of a New York home.

Timothy Handle, 40, was found guilty Wednesday of second-degree murder and tampering with
evidence.

Prosecutors say Handle last year killed 27-year-old Kathleen Connolly, with whom he had two children, and buried her in the yard of the New Windsor home where he had been staying while a friend was on vacation.

Connolly and Handle had moved from New York to West Hempfield Township with their two children in April 2011. Handle returned to New York with the children after Connolly went missing in early July. Her remains were found August 3.

Handle claimed that Connolly left him and their daughters. He testified that she came to New Windsor to get them and threatened him with a shotgun.

He said he left with the girls and when he returned, he discovered that she had hanged herself in the garage.
