Inspection work begins Monday on Harrisburg bridge

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Traffic on the Market Street Bridge will be restricted to a single lane for the next two to three weeks starting Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation.

PennDOT spokesman Mike Crochunis said the lanes will be restricted on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Crochunis said workers initially will be using a crane to inspect the western span of the bridge between Wormleysburg and City Island. Inspection of the eastern span will follow.
